Safeguarding
Sheringham Primary School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Safeguarding describes the actions taken to promote the welfare and development of children and protect them from harm, abuse or maltreatment. Child Protection is also a part of safeguarding and refers to the activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm. Staff, volunteers, pupils and governors at Sheringham Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
Through our curriculum, we teach children to stay safe and happy. We promote the understanding that any problem or worry that they may have is legitimate, and encourage children to share their concerns with a trusted adult.
Robust safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff. This means that all concerns are passed through trained designated members of staff responsible for safeguarding and child protection.
We have safer recruitment procedures in place and comprehensive training, to help ensure that all staff working at school share this commitment.

Online Safety
From learning in class to playing games at home, children are doing more on the internet than ever before - and it's a wonderful place.
However, just as in 'real life', it's important to make sure your child is staying safe online.
At Sheringham, we teach children about online bullying, communicating safely, and a whole host of other (constantly evolving) themes to help our children stay safe online. Online safety is taught in every Computing unit.
The following sites and fact sheets give practical advice and support on how your child can keep safe online.
